Transfer
a domain to Clear Box Hosting

If you need to transfer your domain to us then please follow the instructions below.

.uk
(.co.uk, .org.uk, .me.uk, .ltd.uk, .plc.uk)

You need to change the IPSTAG on your domain, it should be set to ENOM. You will need to contact the company with who you registered the domain with and ask them to change this for you.

If you are unable to contact them you can contact nominet (www.nic.uk, 01865 332211), the governing body for .uk domains, who will be able to resolve your dispute. As soon as the IPSTAG is changed, we can then activate the domain name onto your hosting account. Your .uk domain will then be renewed as part of your hosting account.

gTLD
(.eu, .com, .org, .net, .biz, .info, .us, .name)

You can use your gTLD with your hosting package by changing the DNS settings with your previous provider to ns1.clearboxhosting.co.uk and ns2.clearboxhosting.co.uk.

All .com,.net,.org,.info, .us and .biz transfers require an authentication code when transferring domains to Clear Box Hosting. You can obtain an authentication code from your current registrar (where the domain is currently registered).

If you are not transferring your domain name to ourselves but only changing the DNS, you will need to change the DNS nameservers on your domain to the following:

Transfer Information

1. Make sure that you have access to the email address listed as the admin contact for the domain. Our transfer process is email verification based, so if your email address listed for the administrative contact of the domain is not current, the transfer will fail.

2. Make sure your domain name is not expired. A domain that is already expired can not be transfered. It is advisable to initiate your transfer at least 7 to 10 days prior to expire date, so there will be enough time to complete the process.

3. All .com,.net,.org,.info, .us and .biz transfers require an authentication code when transferring domains to Clear Box Hosting. You can obtain an authentication code from your current registrar (where the domain is currently registered).

4.We cannot transfer domains that are less than 60 days old. If you registered your domain within the last 60 days, please wait until after 60 days before starting a transfer to Clear Box Hosting.

5. Make sure your domain name is not locked at the current registrar. Please contact your current registrar to make sure there are no holds or locks when transferring your domain name.(Many registrars will automatically place a lock on your domain, so you must be sure it is disabled).

6. Domain transfers add 1 year onto your expire date, so you don't lose any time you have paid for. There is one exception to this rule: If the domain was recently reactivated from an expired state, you will not get a year added to the expire date. You must wait at least 45 days before you can transfer the domain without losing the renewal year you purchased to 'unexpire' the domain.
